Brief info
Thierry Été grew in Paris, France, raised in the tradition of Haute Couture.
His great-grandmother had created one of the twenty couture houses in Paris (Sara Mayer A. Morhange & Cie) at the turn of the 20th century.
Some of her dresses are now part of the permanent collections of the VA Museum in London, England and the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the United States.
After studying “Gestion Transport et Logistique” at the University Paris XIII (Paris, France), Thierry Eté earned his diploma in Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis and Psychorelaxology from the Institut Français de Culture Humaine / Centre de Sophrologie de Paris (that became Ecole des Hautes Etudes de Sophrologie et Bio-analyse). For his Senior year thesis, he studied and researched the medical field of Chronobiology (under the direction of Dr. Geneviève DI COSTANZO, Master Researcher at the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, Paris, France) and applied his discoveries to create a new approach to psychotherapy with a relaxology method named “Chrono-Relaxology™” integrating biorhythms with relaxation techniques. After graduation, he took a position of Sophrology professor at the Fédération Internationale de Relaxologie, under the direction of Dr. Jean Paul Guyonnaud.
As a Psychorelaxologist and Consultant in Stress Management, Time Organization, and Goal Achievement, he worked with numerous High-Profile Individuals and prestigious Companies (Marcel Dassault Aviation, Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris, Artos, Vitatop, Philips France, Saint-James Club…) and gave several public lectures including on French National Television (Antenne 2 program “C'est encore mieux l'après-midi”). Passionate about the spatio-temporal organization of living systems, he engaged in life research on organization of communities and companies, that lead to the writing of “the Organization of ONE”, a private and copyrighted research paper distributed exclusively to chosen influential personalities of our time, and among others, Mrs. Hilary Clinton and President Donald Trump.
After years of private practice, and desirous to apply his organizational knowledge and develop his operational and business skills, he had the opportunity to take over the operations of SA HAROLD SAINT GERMAIN, the flagship store and showroom in Paris, of the elegant and chic sportwear Golf brand of designer Jean-Claude JEZEQUEL. Under his Direction, the company took the lead in volume of sales from the 83 national and international point of sales.
Following his successes in the Fashion industry in Paris and meeting his wife, the Celebrity Couture Designer Sonia Été, he emigrated to the United States to become the Textile and Development Director of the new brand Pam McMahon Couture (spouse of Ed McMahon), distributed at Neiman Marcus. Then, he co-launched with his spouse, Sonia Kim, Inc., a successful Couture apparel corporation dedicated to serve Celebrities and the creation of a luxury pet accessories line named Fashion Paw’s sold at Neiman Marcus.
He is the co-founder of Sonia Été, a non-for-profit organization with mission of connecting industry professionals and supporting new designers’ ventures.
He is the co-founder of Beverly Hills Couture Art Fashion Week.
In 2005, he became the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Beverly Hills Design Institute, nationally accredited college of Haute Couture and Luxury Design in Beverly Hills, California, USA, with the mission to create among the world strongest and specialized Associates and Bachelors fashion programs, by combining French fashion education savoir-faire, Celebrity marketing and American business expertise.
During the history of BHDI, and to stay at the forefront of fashion education, he particularly recruited and trained a team of PHD and MA/MS faculty members in order to teach science and humanity topics specifically applied to the different aspects of the Fashion Industry. Together, they developed the content of courses taught at BHDI in Biology, Environmental Science, Psychology, Sociology, History, Anthropology, English, Literature, Economy, and Mathematics, applied to fashion product research and development, manufacturing, marketing and world distribution. With the Digital Pattern Making Department, he engaged in researches on mass made-to-measure distribution, through body measurement with Mobile application, 3D avatar shopping experience with digital pattern making software integration, relay to local manufacturing, and even Uber style consumer delivery. More in the future, the concept of home fashion 3D printing with brands IP royalty remuneration based on the digital pattern making file involved, for each purchase.
